Who we are

Centenary United Methodist Church is a downtown congregation that helps you follow Jesus through worship, formation, and service. The church offers two Sunday services that honor Methodist tradition and invite fresh engagement. You will hear Scripture read aloud, prayers offered for the city and world, and preaching that connects faith to real decisions. Music includes hymns, choir, organ, and modern songs, depending on the service. People of all ages gather here. Newcomers find clear paths to participate without pressure.

Centenary’s vision is simple. Live faith and practice faithful living. That vision shapes a weekly rhythm of worship, classes, and outreach. Children and students have safe, engaging programs. Adults join Sunday classes, weekday studies, and mission teams. Care ministries support those who are sick, grieving, or in crisis. The church partners with schools, shelters, and community organizations. You can serve with a food pantry, a tutoring program, or a city project. Staff and lay leaders will help you find a role that fits your gifts and schedule.

Centenary belongs to the United Methodist Church and shares in mission with other congregations across the region. Through this connection, your prayers, presence, gifts, and service reach beyond one campus. The church keeps the focus on Jesus and on neighbors who need hope. You will see that focus in worship planning, in community partnerships, and in the way volunteers welcome you at the door.

What to expect on a Sunday

Park on West Fifth Street, in the 4 1/2 Street lot, or in nearby garages. Greeters will point you to the correct entrance for the Sanctuary or Memorial Auditorium. Accessible entrances and ramps are available. Nursery care and children’s options are offered during morning hours. After worship, stop by a welcome area to ask questions and learn about next steps.
