Banner Elk Presbyterian Church
Welcome
You want a church that loves Scripture, honors thoughtful worship, and serves the High Country with stable leadership. Banner Elk Presbyterian Church stands beside Lees McRae College and welcomes year round residents, students, and seasonal neighbors from Sugar Mountain and beyond. You will find a historic stone sanctuary, strong music, and preaching that invites you to follow Jesus with clarity. You can come as you are. We will help you find a seat, introduce you to a few people, and point you to simple ways to connect during the week.
Worship follows a clear order that keeps the focus on God. We read the Bible, confess our need, receive grace, and respond with prayer and song. The message connects Scripture to everyday choices at home, on campus, and at work. If you bring children, you can use staffed ministries that provide a safe and calm setting. If you prefer to keep children with you, we understand and support that choice. You can also watch services online when travel or weather keeps you home.
Growth and community
You can join classes that explore books of the Bible and key themes of the Christian life. Groups meet on a schedule that respects busy calendars. We encourage you to start with one next step. Attend a class for four weeks. Join a prayer group. Volunteer for a local outreach. Small commitments done with care build strong habits and real friendships. If you are new to faith or new to Presbyterian life, you can ask for a short introduction class. We cover core beliefs, church life, and ways to serve.
The church invests in the town through steady service. Teams support local schools, care for seniors, and respond when storms bring special needs. Members also mentor college students by hosting meals and offering practical help like rides and job leads. If you enjoy music, you can join a choir or share an instrument. If you prefer quiet service, you can help with setup or tech. We train you and keep expectations clear so you can serve with confidence.
Plan your visit
Parking is available near the sanctuary. Greeters will guide you to classrooms or the nursery if you need it. We finish on time and leave room for conversation after the service. You can read more or watch recent services at bannerelkpresbyterian.org. Use the map link below for directions. We look forward to meeting you and helping you connect in a way that fits your season of life.
